Much of this talk about the philosophy of consciousness resonates with me (pun intended) in relation to Douglas Hofstadter’s “Strange Loop” hypothesis.
maybe it's simpler*. Maybe DMT catalysis rotates the perceptual ground of Being into an extra dimension (or more) orthogonal to the standard consensus realm of 4-dimensional material embodiment. Perhaps with an electrical shift at the cellular or subcellular level (of some unknown, unmapped sort) that discloses transient access to an entirely different circuit latent in the potential of human neurology.
*[in some sense.]
Speaking of the possible electrical properties of DMT: I'd like to see some research into verifying the anecdotally reported effect of DMT on powerful music amplifiers. I once read that the Grateful Dead and their crew found that whenever someone was smoking DMT onstage in proximity to the amps, it induced an audible effect on music signals, akin to sawtooth distortion. Some sort of intermodulation distortion. It seems to not be a subjective effect, but one heard by witnesses other than the person ingesting the substance. The effect was supposedly so pronounced and reliably noticed that people were banned from smoking (okay, vaping) DMT onstage. This effect seems like to would be easy enough to verify in the presence of witnesses using the baseline of their unaltered ears--and, conceivably, an oscilloscope or other test gear. Not sure whether the gear involved was tube or solid state. But a Fender Twin and a Mac 2100 would be good candidates for use in the experiment. Maybe Kirlian photography would also be helpful.
The information paradigm of magick, then.
